A Family Vacation on the Virginia Beach Coast

Haleigh and her family traveled to Virginia Beach for a beach vacation and decided it was the perfect opportunity to schedule family portraits together. We met at Little Island Park in Sandbridge, one of my favorite locations for beach sessions thanks to its wide shoreline, dunes, and beautiful evening light.

This session brought together several generations of family. Haleigh and her husband were joined by their two young daughters, along with Haleigh’s parents and her brothers. One of her brothers and his wife also has three daughters, including energetic 7-year-old twin girls and their youngest sister.

Capturing Every Combination

With a large family, we took time to photograph a variety of groupings. We started with everyone together before moving through each individual family, the grandparents with their grandchildren, sibling photos, and plenty of portraits of the cousins together. Sessions like this are a great way to capture both the entire family and the smaller relationships that make the day special.

A Beautiful Evening at Little Island Park

Little Island Park continues to be one of my favorite places for Virginia Beach family portraits. The open beach gives everyone plenty of room to relax, while the natural dunes and shoreline provide a simple, timeless backdrop that keeps the focus on the people in the photographs.

It was a pleasure spending the evening with Haleigh and her family and documenting this season of life while they were together in Sandbridge. I hope these photos will always remind them of their vacation in Virginia Beach and the time they shared with one another.
