Hello! Thank you for visiting. I’m Stephen Kinstler, a professional wedding and portrait photographer based in Virginia Beach and the greater Hampton Roads area. I’ve been photographing people and their stories since 2005, and in that time, I’ve had the privilege of documenting hundreds of weddings and countless families across Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and coastal North Carolina. Every session, every couple, every family brings something new to the table, and that’s what keeps this work meaningful for me.
Photography has always been more than a job. I’m drawn to the way a single image can hold emotion, personality, and memory all at once. Whether I’m photographing a wedding day full of energy or a quiet portrait session at sunset, my goal is to create images that feel honest and alive. My approach blends classic portraiture with natural, documentary-style storytelling. I’ll guide you when you need direction, step back when the moment unfolds on its own, and look for the small, meaningful details that often become the most cherished photographs. I’m always paying attention to light, movement, and the environment around us – whether we’re in the gardens of Norfolk, the beaches of Sandbridge, or the trails at First Landing State Park.
