Dana’s senior portraits at Norfolk Botanical Garden were special in a way that goes far beyond a beautiful location or great light. I’ve known Dana since she was little, and her mom, Allison, has assisted me at several weddings over the years. Getting to photograph this milestone for their family felt like one of those full‑circle moments that remind me why I love this work.

Norfolk Botanical Garden is one of those places that gives you endless variety without ever feeling overwhelming. Wide garden paths, soft pockets of shade, blooming color everywhere. It’s the kind of setting that lets a session breathe. For Dana, it fit perfectly. She’s always had a calm, steady presence, and the garden’s atmosphere matched that energy in the best way.

We moved through a few different areas without rushing: open lawns, tucked‑away flower beds, and the water’s edge where the light softened just enough to give everything a warm glow. Nothing forced, nothing over‑posed – just natural moments that felt like her.
