Nash’s senior portraits were captured on a beautiful July evening at Little Island Park in Sandbridge, and it gave us exactly what you hope for in a summer session: warm light, a steady breeze off the water, and a relaxed pace from start to finish.
A Simple, Natural Senior Session
This wasn’t about over-planning or over-posing. We kept things simple and let the location do a lot of the work. Little Island Park has a great mix of beach access, dunes, and pier structure, which gave us a lot of variety without ever needing to leave the area.
The evening light stayed soft and golden, especially as we moved closer to sunset along the shoreline. That kind of light makes everything feel effortless, where skin tones stay natural, and the whole session just breathes a little easier.
Working the Space at Little Island
We started with more structured portraits near the pier and wooden walkways, then gradually shifted toward the beach as the light got better. The variety in this gallery comes from small changes in angle and background rather than big location jumps, which helps keep the final set cohesive.
Some of the strongest frames came right at the end of the session when the sun dropped lower and reflected off the water. Those are the moments you can’t really plan – you just have to be there and ready.
Keeping It Focused on the Senior Year Moment
With Nash, the goal was straightforward: create clean, natural portraits that reflect this season of life without forcing anything overly styled or complicated.

This session stands on its own because of timing, light, and location working together. July evenings at the beach in Virginia Beach don’t last long, but when they hit right, they’re hard to beat.
