Ashly & Christopher’s wedding day began with quite a bit of rain, and since everything was taking place outside I was concerned that their plans would be ruined thanks to Mother Nature. But the sun came out just in time to dry up everything and their ceremony took place in Christopher’s parent’s back yard on the Elizabeth River, with a huge white tent under the stars for the reception!
Ashly looked stunning in her wedding gown! Her smile will light up your day and her daughter is cute as a button, too! Christopher (who reminds me of Chris O’Donnell, by the way) looked dapper in his suit and was quite calm, cool, and collected – until Ashly walked down the aisle and his emotions got the best of him. Seeing Ashly made him tear up with pride and joy, and everyone could truly see his love for Ashly as they joined their hands in marriage.
Even though things got off to a late start, we managed to get back on track by speeding up the formal portraits and not spending as much time taking couples portraits afterwards. I wished there was more time for it, but as a wedding photographer you just gotta accept the circumstances and try to keep things on schedule whenever possible. Ashly & Christopher started the reception with a choreographed dance, complete with awesome dips and lifts! It was a great party thanks to Bobby Reynolds of Hey DJ! I certainly had a good time taking pictures of the guests and watching all of their friends join in the fun.
