I was looking forward to this wedding for a while. Jennifer & Ross met with me earlier in the year to tell me all about their plans for their country wedding in the field. It sounded like the perfect setting for them. Like most brides & grooms, they had everything planned and ready to go for the big day ahead of schedule. Plus, they rocked their engagement portraits at Windsor Castle Park, so I  knew they were going to have some great wedding photos in that country setting!

But Hurricane Joaquin had plans of his own.

The field where they had planned the wedding and reception was flooded and there was no way they could go through with all the plans they had made for this beautiful wedding in the field. After they called around to the different venues in the area hoping against hope that some place would be available, they were able to secure the Lesner Inn! The staff worked to get all of their plans arranged for an indoor wedding and Jennifer and Ross got the word out to everyone for the change of plans. I think all of this happened within 36 hours, which is no small feat!

I got to spend about an hour or so with Jennifer and her girls as they got ready, capturing the details and special moments before the ceremony. Everyone looked amazing! The whole wedding party wore boots, and the guys wore jeans and their cowboy hats. The ceremony was very special because Jennifer’s dad was the officiant and he did an excellent job. One very unique touch that Jennifer & Ross brought to their wedding was fire-branding a bench they made with a custom-welded branding iron! It was very impressive to watch them wield the branding iron together and permanently make their mark.

The evening continued with great country music, line dances, and just good ol’ fashioned fun! If you didn’t know that the wedding plans had changed so dramatically you’d have thought that it was planned to be a Lesner Inn Country Wedding all along. I loved spending time with Jennifer, Ross, and all their guests, and I’m glad that everything worked out in the end.

Congratulations Jennifer & Ross – thank you for letting me be a part of your Country Wedding at Lesner Inn!
