A Meaningful Virginia Beach Micro Wedding with Family at the Courthouse
Samara and Ben’s Virginia Beach micro wedding was a short but meaningful celebration focused on family, connection, and honoring their life together. This Virginia Beach micro wedding took place at the courthouse, where the couple gathered with their closest family members for portraits and heartfelt moments that truly reflected who they are. Even though this was a two-hour session, it was filled with genuine emotion and thoughtful details that made the day feel complete.
From the first photos outside the courthouse, you could feel how proud their families were to be part of such an important moment. Family portraits were a major focus of the session, and we made sure to capture everyone together in ways that felt relaxed and natural. The courthouse grounds provided a classic and timeless backdrop, with clean architectural lines and soft natural light that worked beautifully for group portraits.
Honoring Their Work in Virginia Beach EMS
One of the most meaningful parts of Samara and Ben’s day was incorporating their shared careers into their wedding portraits. Samara is an EMT, and Ben serves as a paramedic in Virginia Beach, so it was incredibly fitting that the Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad allowed us to take photos outside Station 5.
Standing beside one of the fire trucks created some of the most unique images from the day. These portraits weren’t just visually striking — they told a story about their dedication to serving the community. Seeing them together in that environment made the photos feel personal, authentic, and deeply connected to their everyday lives.
Those moments will likely hold even more meaning as the years go by, because they represent both their love story and their commitment to helping others.
Beautiful Portraits Around the Courthouse Grounds
After finishing family portraits and the fire station images, we used the remaining time to create wedding portraits around the Virginia Beach courthouse grounds. The couple shared quiet moments walking together, smiling and laughing naturally as we moved between locations.
Some of my favorite images came from simple interactions — Samara adjusting her bouquet, Ben pulling her close for a quick embrace, and the two of them laughing together as family members cheered them on. These small moments often become the most meaningful memories.
Even though this was a micro wedding, nothing about it felt rushed. Instead, it felt intentional and focused on what truly matters: celebrating love with the people who matter most.
