I had the pleasure of working with Kristie & Stacy for their wedding on January 26, 2013. There was still snow on the ground from the day before so it truly was a, “Nice day… for a white wedding!” Sorry, I couldn’t help myself – that just writes itself. The day went off without a hitch and Kristie looked beautiful and Stacy was quite the handsome man himself. When I asked Kristie what the theme of her wedding was, she told me that she couldn’t settle on a motif when she was looking for one. But when she kept seeing ampersands on everything during the wedding planning, she thought that that was a good fit for her wedding: The Ampersand –> &
So there were ampersands everywhere… on the hand-made signs, the candy dish, the wedding cake, and the couple’s table. I even used a vintage ampersand for a few detail shots. It turned out to be a nice theme for the wedding because of the different variations seen throughout the day.
I have a lot of favorite images from their wedding day, but the one that stands out in my mind is the one of Stacy’s nephew raising his glass at the bar in front of the “Beers & Cheers” sign. I showed this as the last image in the same-day slideshow and everyone got a kick out of it. My other favorites are the ones we took outside on the patio at the Wyndham Hotel. It was getting dark, but since dinner was still going on we decided to go outside for a few more pictures together. The blue sky was beautiful, and the snow on the ground gave a nice contrast to the palm trees and beach setting.
