The Mill at Fine Creek is an impressive wedding venue based in Powhatan, Virginia. Nestled on 10 acres of green landscape scattered with walking paths and historical ruins, this location offers a one-of-a-kind location for weddings. It hosts only one event per day, allowing couples and their guests to enjoy the occasion and grounds in privacy.
Facilities and Capacity
The venue can accommodate up to 225 guests and offers both indoor and outdoor event spaces. Couples have a choice of three outdoor ceremony sites, with original stone facades and surrounding trees creating a glorious backdrop for the occasion. Inside, the main event room boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and open spaces.
History
Dating back to the 1730s, The Mill at Fine Creek is a part of a recognized historic locality. A gristmill was erected on the land after which, people began to settle in the area. The property was used for residential purposes was when President Thomas Jefferson’s father, Peter, built a manor with his wife, Jane Randolph. While this house was burned by a fire in 1928, many of the archaeological remains are there today.
