It was a gorgeous day for Hope & Ray’s wedding at Flora Corner Farm in Mechanicsville, MD. The weather was perfect and the sun was shining bright, my favorite kind of light to work with for an outdoor wedding.
I was so impressed by the staff at Flora Corner Farm, who had every detail set and ready to go by the time I arrived! I got straight to work on capturing the details of the reception setup in the barn, then I headed over to see Hope put on the finishing touches for her hair and makeup. I love the pictures I captured of her wedding gown hanging in the dogwood tree outside the home. But Hope truly made it come to life when she put on the dress! She was a stunning bride from head to toe! In fact, all of her bridesmaids looked like they stepped out of wedding magazine, they were just so beautiful!
I also got to spend some time with Ray and his guys, who were equally dashing in their vests. It’s always fun to join a group of guys while they’re being themselves, where jokes and innuendos abound, but Ray and his guys kept it pretty clean, I must say.
The ceremony got off to a late start and I was worried that it would put a damper on the mood for the rest of the day, but the wedding party did their job and kept Hope & Ray at peace. They even took a few minutes to have a ‘first photo’ where they hid behind the door of a room, held hands, and said a prayer together before the wedding – it was a sweet moment.
The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast. I had so much fun editing the pictures from their wedding, seeing all the fun expressions from the bride, the groom, and their guests. I could tell that Hope & Ray were thoroughly enjoying their time with family and friends, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of this wedding – it’s actually the third wedding in Hope’s family that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.
Congratulations Hope & Ray – thank you for letting me be a part of your Flora Corner Farm Wedding!
